Author and weekly Casper Star-Tribune columnist Mary Billiter followed in the footsteps of her father, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University at Northridge. She recently completed her Master of Arts degree in Adult and Post-Secondary Education at the University of Wyoming.
Mary was appointed by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead to the Wyoming Council for Women's Issues, which focuses its actions on the needs and concerns of women in Wyoming.
In addition to serving the people of Wyoming, Mary teaches fiction writing courses in the Casper College Continuing Education department. Mary was the keynote speaker at Casper College's GED graduation ceremony in May 2012.
Her first work of fiction, "Not My Kid…," was published in May 2011. Her latest work, "The XYZ Affair," is slated for release this June. Both "Not My Kid..." and "The XYX Affair" are set in Wyoming, Mary's adopted home state.
A recent newlywed, Mary resides in the Cowboy State with her unabashedly bald new husband, Ron Gullberg, her four amazing children: Austin, Kyle, Ciara and Cooper and their runaway dog.
